if you want to some cool ,fancy Japanese glasses ,

go to Nishijima

three generation old glasses store in Tranomon ,

somewhat near Ginza .

You’ll have to have someone show you how to get there ,

but once you get there ,

the owner speaks excellent English .

this guy treats his business like an artisanal craft.

He will spend at least a half hour adjusting the glasses for for you ,

both when you’re choosing and after they are ready to be picked up .

He will never rush you ,

and if he’s helping someone else

there’s a plenty to look at .

We walked in there for the first time in six years a little while ago ,

and he remembered our names ,and knew who had introduced us to him .
