For those of you who feel that glasses don’t suit you because your eyes are too close together.

My name is Tatsushi Nishijima, the third generation owner of Nishijima Optical Shop, a store in Toranomon, Minato Ward, founded in 1919.

For over 30 years, I have been selecting glasses that suit people who are unsure of what suits them best.

“want to enjoy glasses! But no matter what I wear, I just can’t seem to find the perfect fit.”

The reason for this could be the distance between my eyes.

“I feel like my eyes look crossed when I wear glasses.”
“I just don’t feel like I can do my job properly.”
“My face tends to look puffy, and sharp outfits never come together.”

If you have these kinds of concerns,
in fact, if you have a narrow eye distance (interpupillary distance: PD), there’s a way to choose glasses that will help you feel more confident, with a more balanced face, and less bothered by them.

That’s Nishijima Optical Shop’s Toranomon “Glasses Selection that Brings Out the Best of Your Face.”

At our store, we select frames that suit your face based on our “Three Golden Rules.”
• Make the most of: Every face has its own “good points.” They are a reflection of your inner self. Highlight these and make them easier for others to understand.
• Add: If your eyes are small, make them appear bigger. If your face has a vague impression, add definition.
• Reduce prominence: If your eyes are close together, you have a prominent jawline, or your face is large, make them less noticeable.
When choosing glasses for people with narrow eyes, it’s effective to keep the following points in mind:

Create a focal point on the outer edge of your eyes. This will cause your eyes to become more centered and less visible.

• Use frames with rims. This is effective in making the cheeks appear smaller, which can often appear wider and larger in people with more centered eyes.

• Make sure the bridge (the part connecting the left and right lenses) is not too wide. If it is too wide, it will throw off the overall balance of your face. Other factors include:

Placing points on the outer edges of both eyes will create a balanced look. If the distance between your eyes is narrow, the area from your cheeks to your chin will appear larger.

This is the first time I’ve ever felt good wearing glasses. Thank you!
